Meet the
CGAM team

Prior to founding CGAM in 2000, Peter was a partner and strategy director at Cazenove & Co Capital Management and a US equity investor at Capel Cure & Myers. Peter has managed Capital Gearing Trust plc since 1982.

Chris joined CGAM in 2015 and has co-managed the funds since that date. Prior to that he was a director at IPGL Limited, a private investment vehicle with a range of public and private interests predominantly in the financial services industry, where he worked for six years. Before that he worked at MMC Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm. Chris studied Chemistry at New College, Oxford.

Alastair joined CGAM in 2011, and has co-managed the funds since that date. Alastair joined CGAM from Hg Capital LLP (a pan-European private equity fund) and previously worked with the mergers and acquisitions team at Deloitte LLP. Alastair was educated at Edinburgh University and was an MBA Scholar at London Business School. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Accountants of Scotland.

Hassan joined CGAM in 2021. Prior to that he worked in M&A and Leveraged Finance at HSBC. He began his career at PwC in 2013 advising on corporate finance for infrastructure projects. Hassan read Mathematics & Economics at the London School of Economics and is a CFA Charterholder.

Emma joined CGAM in 2022. Before joining, she worked as a macroeconomist at the Bank of England for eight years, focusing on risks in financial markets. She began her career in the capital markets practice at Bell Gully, a New Zealand-based corporate law firm. Emma holds an MSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics, and studied Economics, Finance and Law at the University of Auckland.

Jock joined CGAM in 2024. He graduated from Durham University with a Combined Honours (Hons) degree studying History and Geography. Jock previously spent the summer of 2023 on an internship with the investment team and is currently studying for his CFA level 1.

Sophia joined CGAM in 2024 to lead the investor relations team. Prior to this, she was Business Development Director at Carmignac and worked for J O Hambro Capital Management on the European Sales Team. She began her career in Hong Kong with Korn Ferry. She also co-founded Virtuvest, the responsible investor network, in 2020. She graduated from Bristol University and holds the IMC & the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing.

Katie joined CGAM in 2024 to head up investor relations for Capital Gearing Trust. Before joining, she worked within the Investment Funds team at JP Morgan Cazenove. She began her career as an Analyst at Goldman Sachs. Katie holds a BSc (Hons) in Business & Politics from Aston Business School.

Prior to joining CGAM in 2015 Chris was an Operations Officer at State Street Bank. He has held operational roles servicing Investment Trust and Institutional Pension Fund clients.

Prior to joining CGAM in 2017, Jason spent 5 years as an Operations Officer at State Street Bank servicing Retail and Institutional Funds for high profile clients. In his career spanning over 30 years in the fund accounting industry, Jason has gained extensive experience at companies such as M&G and BNY Mellon.

Sindy joined CGAM in 2022 as an Operations Manager. She previously spent 5 years working as a Management Accountant at Blick Rothenburg servicing a range of Investment Managers prior to joining CGAM. Sindy studied Biology at Imperial College, London. She is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Amber joined CGAM in October 2024 as Head of Compliance. Prior to joining she was a Compliance Consultant advising asset managers, advisors, and hedge funds. Amber studied History at the University of Cambridge and the Postgraduate Diploma in Law at BPP University. She holds the CISI Diploma in Investment Compliance.

Prath joined CGAM in 2023 supporting the middle and back office function. Prath holds a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences from Queen Mary University of London and is now pursuing the Investment Operations Certificate (IOC).

Finn joined CGAM in 2021 and is responsible for office morale. Finn was promoted to "Good Boy" in April 2022.
